Roofing is a very important part of a building, representing about 29-25% of the total cost of a building. The rising cost of conventional roofing materials like corrugated iron sheets, aluminium and Nigerite sheets necessitated research for alternative roofing materials ‘Semi-Sheet’ by NBRRI to reduce the cost, and possible replacement of fibre reinforced roofing materials ‘Mador-Tiles’ that was earlier developed by NBRRI because of its size.
